Larry Whittington

Associate Specializing in Software Applications

Larry's broad experience includes strategic planning, technical education, consulting, systems engineering, software development, quality auditing, and project management.

Larry is an ASQ certified quality auditor, ASQ certified software quality engineer, and RAB and IRCA certified ISO 9000 lead auditor. He conducts third party audits as a subcontractor for a Registrar. He is also a trained TickIT lead auditor for software systems and an AIAG certified QS-9000 lead auditor for the automotive industry.

Companies in a variety of industries have relied upon his expertise, including AT&T, Allied Plastics, ALLTEL Information Services, AlphaGraphics, American Software, Amoco Fabrics & Fibers, Boeing, Coca-Cola, GE Computer Rental Services, Electronic Data Systems, IBM, International Safety Instruments, Kemper Insurance, Lockheed-Martin, MEDAES, VeriFone, ZF Industries, and Zurn Air Systems.

Larry teaches public and in-house ISO 9000 and QS-9000 overview, documentation, implementation, internal auditing, and lead assessor classes. While with IBM, he managed their application software development process and advised multiple divisions on their ISO 9000 implementation activities. He also consults on the Capability Maturity Model developed by the Software Engineering Institute.

Small companies in Georgia have benefited from his ISO 9000 coalition programs with the Center for Quality Excellence at Southern Polytechnic State University. Larry has written articles on ISO 9000 for a variety of industry publications. In addition, his presentations have been highly rated at CEEM and ASQ quality conferences.

Larry is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, Southeast Software Association, IEEE Computer Society, Project Management Institute, and American Society for Quality.

Larry received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with High Honors and a Master of Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Sigma Tau honor societies.
