5 (Six) - S

The Five S (5-S) method is a basic "lean" tool used by employee teams to solve problems, improve performance, and reduce costs. 5-S is a tool that will improve your work place operations and is one of many Lean tools, which include work cells, Just-in-time (JIT) inventory, visual controls, and value stream mapping. The Toyota Production System, developed after WWII in Japan, was influenced by Ford, the USA supermarket system, W. Edwards Deming and is the basis for 5-S and lean manufacturing.

This program runs 2-3 days and is set up for production staff, supervisors, middle, and top management. It includes not only the 5-S methodology but also exercises to identify areas for 5-S improvements and exercises that illustrate the power of 5-S.
